COMMENTS:  Although this Tri-rise Series piece really is formally functional art, it works far better as a sculpture than a vase. "Honey, we're having the deacon over for dinner. Could you put some roses in Sinister Air Conditioner?" I have put some interesting craggy dried arrangements in vessels like this with interesting effect.
